(Ellsworth) â The finalist for the city managerâs post in Ellsworth has withdrawn from consideration and now city councilors will search again for a new manager. City Council chair Dale Hamilton reports to Star 97.7 that their possible choice for the job told the city council it did not feel like it was the right opportunity. Only 20-people applied for the job when it opened up last September following manager David Coleâs retirement. Hamilton says the search will start over in January.
(Ellsworth) â A 24-year old English teacher at Ellsworth High School faces charges after police investigated an allegation of inappropriate contact with a 15-year old student. The Ellsworth Police Department reports that they arrested Adam Hitchcock of Bangor after investigating the allegation that school officials received last Thursday. The school department reported the allegation to the District Attorneyâs Office as required by law. Officers interviewed numerous people during the next day and a half and seized evidence in the case.
