ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — A St. Joseph man was sentenced to 24 years in prison Friday for his role in the shooting death of a 2-year-old girl.
Caimon Stillman, 21, pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder in the Aug. 9 death of Raelynn Craig, KQ2 reported.
Prosecutors said Raelynn was sitting in the backseat of a car when it was hit by gunfire from another vehicle. Two adults with her were injured.
Prosecutors sought a life sentence, while Stillman's defense attorney argued for 17-20 years. Buchanan County District Court Judge Patrick Robb sentenced Stillman to 24 years.
