Helen with two of her sons
A MUM whose family was rescued from a house blaze in the early hours of Friday morning has spoken of their terrifying ordeal – and sent an enormous thank you to firefighters.
Emergency crews were called to Helen Jackson’s property on Truro Close, Laffak, at about 1.40am after a malfunctioning microwave resulted in a kitchen fire.
After arriving at the scene, fire crews used a ladder to rescue Helen and her three children from the rear bedroom window, before extinguishing the fire with a hose reel jet.
Helen, a mail order worker, wished to thank “each and every one” of the firefighters that were “absolutely brilliant” in saving the family and preventing a much worse situation.
