Springfield teachers have overwhelmingly ratified a one-year extension of their existing contract with District 186.
The Springfield Education Association says more than 700 teachers voted on the contract this week, with 94-percent of them in favor. The agreement appears to simply extend the current terms of the contract, but neither side has revealed any specifics about the agreement.
The Springfield school board is expected to vote on the deal at its next meeting Monday night.
