Springfield sets up tent outside City Hall for tax payments during COVID pandemic

SPRIINGFIELD — The city’s Collector’s Office began accepting tax payments on Thursday at a new outdoor tent at City Hall, aimed at creating a safe option under the coronavirus pandemic.
The tent, located in the rear parking lot at City Hall has three window counters staffed by the Collectors Office. People can pay their bills including their current motor vehicle (excise) taxes, property taxes and personal property taxes and trash fees. Excise taxes are due Monday.
