As District 186 hybrid students head back to classrooms four days a week, the district is looking at changes to this year’s graduation requirements to help students cope with the effects of the pandemic.
The district has traditionally required a total of 26 credits for a student to graduate, but reduced that number to 22 last year because of the disruption during the spring semester with the abrupt transition to remote learning. With students either all-remote or in a mix of remote and hybrid this semester, Superintendent Jennifer Gill is recommending that the 22-credit standard be adopted again this year.
