Springfield’s Jasan Bonilla drove to Syracuse area to confront ex, broke into her home with knife, police say

Clay, N.Y. — State police say a man made the 3 1/2-hour trip from Springfield, Massachusetts, to the Syracuse area to confront his ex-girlfriend about her new boyfriend.
But police say that when the couple rejected his attempts, the man armed himself with a steak knife and broke into their apartment through a first-floor window, forcing the couple to barricade behind a bedroom door.
State police were called to the residence at the Kimbrook Manor apartment complex on Theodolite Drive in the town of Clay around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, where they took 35-year-old Jasan Bonilla into custody.
