HOT SPRINGS - "As we come into your communities, we need people to help us get folks vaccinated," Madison County Health Director Tammy Cody said during a radio appearance May 4.
That's exactly what happened May 12, as the Spring Creek community held the first community-organized vaccine clinic in the county.
At the clinic, at Spring Creek Community Center, 22 people received either Johnson & Johnson or Moderna vaccines. The community is in the process of establishing a date for the second clinic, according to the event's organizer, Mike Tuziw.
Tuziw, who has volunteered at many of the county health department's vaccine clinics held at the county fairgrounds, contacted Cody about holding the event in Spring Creek.
