It's no surprise that Floridians are spending less at restaurants now than before the pandemic.
New research from Zenreach and Top Data shows estimated sales were down 11 percent in December compared to January of this year.
Zenreach CEO John Kelly says that even though the state has reopened, the financially devastated tourism industry has led to less spending at Florida's restaurants.
As bad as Florida's eateries have been hit, the damage pales in comparison to Idaho, where restaurant spending is down 47 percent from January to December. That was the worst showing in the data.
