Canvastown School principal Monika Prusass says there needs to be more consistency with speed limits outside schools.
More consistency is needed over speed limits outside schools, says a rural Marlborough principal.
Transport Minister Michael Wood last week announced government's proposal to drop speed limits outside schools across the country.
Canvastown School principal Monika Prusass said if the government was looking to standardise the speed limits around schools, it also needed to consider standardising the times “so it's simple for everyone and avoids confusion.”
After years of lobbying, the 100kmh speed limit was reduced to 60kmh outside the school last year, and new signage went up at the start of the school year.
