Spain increases number of migrants returned to Morocco
Madrid, May 23 (Prensa Latina) The number of Moroccan migrants who try to reach Spain through Ceuta on Sunday exceeded 7,500, according to statistics from the Government Delegation in that Spanish autonomous region.
About 500 people returned home on Saturday, some voluntarily, while some 8,000 migrants, including at least 800 minors, have arrived in Ceuta since early this week.
Ceuta, which is close to Melilla, is an access point for those who try to reach the Spanish territory from Morocco.
The situation peaked in the middle of the week, causing strong statements from both countries and the involvement of the European Union (EU).
