A fundraising campaign for the family of a Southmead Hospital doctor who died from Covid-19 has raised more than £122,000.
Dr Gamal Osman treated hundreds of Covid patients at the hospital, but caught the virus himself and died on January 28 after battling the virus in intensive care.
Dr Osman, who was locum consultant based at Southmead, caught the virus in November, just three weeks before vaccinations began for frontline NHS staff.
A fundraiser set up by his colleagues to help his wife Manal and seven children has raised more than £122,000.
Doctors Prashanth Mamilla, Kiaran Flanagan and other colleagues from the Acute Medical Team described him as "generous, calm and extremely popular".
