Hundreds of families are decorating their homes and yards with Christmas trappings this season, but a group from Cedar City is on a mission to decorate something a little less obvious: The graves of local veterans.
Cedar City Councilman R. Scott Phillips and his 13-member committee have worked all year to bring Wreaths Across America to their community.
The national nonprofit coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies each Christmas season at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 2,100 locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad, according to its website.
