Southern Essex Registry of Deeds reopens to public
COURTESY OF SOUTHERN ESSEX REGISTRY OF DEEDS
The Southern Essex Registry of Deeds, 45 Congress St., Salem, will continue the process of reopening to the public beginning May 3.
At the beginning of April, the registry opened for in-person recordings and pre-scheduled research appointments. In-person recording hours will be expanded to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. A drop-off bin will still be available in the foyer for those who prefer to drop off instead of coming into the registry. Additionally the number of simultaneous onsite researchers will increase from 2 two to 10.
The registry encourages visitors to make an appointment ahead of time but walk-ins will be accommodated by availability. All other safety precautions remain in effect.
