A quarter of adults in Southend have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.
NHS data shows 38,130 people had received both jabs by April 25 – 26% of those aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those to have received both jabs, 32,721 were aged 45 and over – 39% of the age group.
It means 5,409 people aged between 16 and 44 have received both doses.
The figures also show 94,352 people in Southend have received at least one jab – 64% of those aged 16 and over.
It comes as the Government announced an extra 60 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus jab have been secured for a booster vaccination programme in the autumn.
