SOUTHAMPTON is the eighth most congested city in the country despite the pandemic, a report has shown.
Data from location technology specialist, TomTom shows that, despite a drop of 23% in the amount of traffic on the roads due to the pandemic, the South remains the most congested area in the UK.
The area is home to five of the countries top 10 congested cities, including Southampton, which ranked fourth in the South.
Data showed that in 2020, congestion levels were at 24 in the city, a drop of nine from 33 in 2019.
The most congested city in the South was Brighton and Hove which stood at a level of 28 in 2020, compared with 35 in 2019.
