South Jersey Industries: Q2 Earnings Snapshot

FOLSOM, N.J. (AP) _ South Jersey Industries Inc. (SJI) on Wednesday reported a loss of $96.8 million in its second quarter.
The Folsom, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of 87 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, came to 2 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 1 cent per share.
The energy services holding company posted revenue of $311.8 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $274.3 million.
