Superintendent of Floyd County Schools, Danny Adkins, congratulates South Floyd Elementary School’s Stephanie Lawson as the county’s newest National Board Certified Teacher.
Superintendent Adkins comments, “Congratulations Mrs. Stephanie Lawson! We are very proud of Stephanie for attaining this prestigious certification. We’re also proud of her level of commitment to her students and to her profession, especially as she has attained this in part during a pandemic. It’s an arduous process during normal school circumstances and we are quite simply impressed that she was able to complete her certification at this time in our world.”
National Board Certification for teachers consists of written assessment of content knowledge, reflection on student work samples, video and analysis of teaching practice, and documented impact and accomplishments as a teaching professional. Teachers have up to three years to complete this process.
