TAMPA – Tulsa’s ability to start the first four minutes of each half with a vengeance played a key role in the Golden Hurricane’s 61-51 win over South Florida on Wednesday afternoon in Yuengling Center.
The Golden Hurricane started the first half 5-of-9 from the field and they acquiesced in starting 6-of-11 to start the second half in putting together a 14-5 run to lead 40-29 with 14:52 remaining.
Guard Austin Richie, held to three points in the first half, went to work at the outset of the second half with seven points as Tulsa took a 9-0 run out of halftime to lead 35-24 just 3:19 into the second half.
