A South Carolina college will be sending its band to next year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Benedict College in Columbia will head to New York City in November of 2022 for their very first appearance in the iconic holiday parade. The Benedict College Marching Tiger Band of Distinction says it will spend the next 18 months working on rehearsals as well as fundraising events. The committee that chooses the participants for the event says Benedict was one of nine bands selected for their musical expertise and stage presence.
