The Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters and the Ukraine-Russia war have increased undernourishment in South Asia, making its food security system more vulnerable, according to the Global Food Policy Report (GFPR) 2023. The report, published by the International Food Policy Research Institute, reveals that South Asia is the most vulnerable region to such changes, with India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh the countries most affected.
