Here we go again
Once again, First Street and Victoria Avenue East will be under repair. Last week, there was a water main break and repair! Now the cement cap over the hole is sinking into the hole. I would think the gravel that was put into the hole was not compacted, and a nice level cement cap put on top. Now it’s sinking. Drive careful when on Victoria Avenue East past First Street.
On strike
In a time when businesses are hurting, people have lost jobs, people have taken pay cuts, and people have lost family members, Manitoba Hydro workers and their union think this is the time to strike and negotiate. I work in Virden where they were striking. I drove by several times. No wave, honk or thumbs up from me. It was all I could do to not wave with my middle finger. When half of the oilfield was laid off last year, you have embarrassed yourselves. Maybe it is time to privatize and get rid of the unions.
