Some of California best-paid employees will get bonuses of $40,000 or more in new contract

California's prison psychiatrists are set to receive bonuses of at least $42,000 through a contract negotiated with Gov. Gavin Newsom, which includes bonuses, pay differentials, and retirement benefits to address the high vacancy rate in hard-to-fill positions.
