Some good news as Waikato DHB continues to grapple with IT issues
28 May 2021
One of the biggest District Health Boards in the country was brought to its knees by a ransomware attack last week.
Hundreds of appointments and surgeries have been deferred and some cancer patients have been sent to other hospitals for treatment.
Chief executive Kevin Snee says they hope to have radiation services back up and running by the middle to end of next week.
He says they won't be back at full capacity, so Tauranga and Wellington hospitals will need to continue to help.
