Kovid died this morning of former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee, one of India’s finest legal minds. He was 91 years old.
Senior lawyer and recipient of Padma Vibhushan, Soli Sorabji was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Delhi.
Soli Jahangir Sorabji was born in 1930 in Mumbai. He started his law practice in 1953 from the Bombay High Court. In 1971, he was named a senior advocate by the Supreme Court.
Mr. Sorabjee became the first Attorney General in 1989 and again from 1998 to 2004.
