Cities across Connecticut have snow emergencies in effect for today's storm.
Snow emergencies are now in place in Bridgeport, Milford, Norwalk Stamford and Greenwich.
Officials tell residents to stay home if possible. They also urge residents to move their cars off of emergency snow routes and alternate side parking routes.
Residents who fail to move their cars properly will get towed and fined $130.
Snow emergency parking lots are open at all schools in Bridgeport. In Stamford, free parking is available in city garages.
City officials also reminded residents to plow their sidewalks and help first responders by clearing the area near fire hydrants.
