MACOMB/MOLINE — Western Illinois University cancelled classes for both the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses on Monday due to extreme wind chills, a university press release issued on Sunday stated.
Residence halls and campus dining centers on the Macomb campus remained open on Monday. The statement indicated that the university plans to reopen Tuesday morning but that a weather advisory will be in place until Wednesday.
The Macomb Police Department encouraged motorists to use extra caution when traveling. They shared on their Facebook page that blowing snow was creating visibility issues and slick roads.
