McKinleyville, CA - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has shared a recall
of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms that may fail to alert properly.
Kidde has recalled about 226,000 of its TruSense smoke and combination
smoke/carbon monoxide alarms that can fail to alert consumers to a fire.
The recalled units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070. Only alarms
with the TruSense logo of “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are
included in the recall. The model numbers are printed on the back of the alarms.
Anyone with a recalled alarm should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement.
