This artist's rendering shows the SmartLab that will be built in a repurposed room at John Paul II Elementary School in Mitchell. The project will allow students at the private K-6 school to work in a hands-on environment that will allow them to study technology in a way that allows them to work toward goals at their own pace. The ongoing project is expected to be completed in the upcoming months, with a ribbon cutting tentatively scheduled for September. (Submitted Photo)
At first glance, an empty arts and sciences room at John Paul II Elementary School doesn’t look like a space that would change the way its students learn and its teachers teach about technology.
