Michael Garvin, holding a portrait of Louis Harden, is surrounded by drawings of (clockwise from left) Shelton Hall, Samuel Smalls Sr. and Beatrice Michael, Garvin’s mother. The mementos depict instrumental figures in Smalls Funeral Home history.
