SLO County will not move forward to ‘Orange Tier’ after just missing metric requirements
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County will not move into the Orange Tier of the state's reopening plan after slightly missing the requirements.
The reasons: slightly higher cases and lower numbers of testing for COVID-19.
According to the State's Blueprint for Safer Economy, in order for a county to proceed to the Orange Tier, the rate of new cases needs to fall between 2.0-5.9 per 100,000 residents.
According to San Luis Obispo County's website, the County is averaging 6.0 new cases, per 100,000, missing the requirements by 0.1.
