Local filmmakers will feature prominently in TG4's landmark Christmas extravaganza - Sámhlú - on the 15th December, 9.30pm.
Strandhill camera and lightingmen Peter Clyne and Niall Flynn have teamed up with director Johnny Gogan and dancer Edwina Guckian to produce a film which celebrates the strawboy (or "mummer") tradition in Sligo and Leitrim
Their film will be part of a 90 minute film which features comedian and actor Tommy Tiernan playing the character of a wanderer arriving into a night time village to use his talent of tapping into the dreams of the citizens. The film is above all a tribute to the artistic spirit in the country, unbowed by the Covid emergency.
