What Is Six Sigma Certification?

Six Sigma is a collection of quality management techniques and tools that were developed in the 1980s and adopted by American corporations such as General Electric. Bill Smith, a Motorola engineer, is credited with developing the Six Sigma system, and Motorola trademarked the name in 1993.
Six Sigma derives its name from a statistical method of designing a manufacturing process that is as error-free as possible. Six sigma in statistics denotes a probability of 3.4 defects per million items produced. This is the highest level to strive for, ensuring error-free product delivery 99.99966 percent of the time.
