I've had people tell me over the years you ain't gonna do it. I've done it. It almost made me call with both of my hair. I just don't care just a really teachable moment to show you how life can take you in really any direction. You may feel like things are a little unpredictable. I know we dio, but here are some of our favorite stories that give us a little hope. Let's start with Arianna Thomas. Arianna Thomas's whole life changed in seconds, but after seeing how far she's come, you'll know her story is just beginning. Her story starts in November of 2019. While Arianna and her family were driving home from school, their car was hit by a drunk driver. I realized what was going on. All of her was my son in the background, talking about Mom, Mom, mom. Her whole body just went limp in the back. In the back seat of the car, Arianna suffered a traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, leaving her paralyzed and on a ventilator as a mother to see your six year old, lively, energetic, bubbly, funny, goofy and then see her laying in the bed and you don't know if she'll be able to do any of that. After three months of intense therapy, Arianna's personality and speech started to come back. Okay, on. After eight months, Arianna started to regain the use of her hands, legs and toes. I could not breathed one. I was in the car accident, so I did. I feel very good. I'm holding E Don't know, carved. I'm I'm holding my own to brush with a bow in my hair. I just don't care. A. J. Burns is a football player with special needs in a senior year of high school. This is the moment he made the play of a lifetime. Just watch and see for yourself. I said, We're gonna put you as fullback and let you get in there and try to score a touchdown. Well, I asked, if you want to run the ball is like, Yes, you know, he was excited, so I mean, he knew what it was gonna be like. He's not. He's not scared of contact, that's for sure. When he pushed me in there and then boys started jumping on me, I dove into them and they dove into me and I scored. It felt a sudden I almost cried myself because I've had people tell me over the years you ain't gonna do it. I've done it. Almost made me car. We're all emotional and a you know, it probably changed. Everybody changes the way we felt, you know, kind of put things in perspective. I'm proud to be part of this team. I'm gonna try to do more than well, I usually do at practice, so I can try to get in again and run the ball. Jasmine and Lance Laden were born with a rare motor neuro condition and weren't expected to live past six months. They love to swing. So when they couldn't go to the playground, the playground was brought to them. There was only 13 Children that they know of in the world that we're born with this with the life expectancy of six months. So we have his sister going on 10 in January and he's going on for in September. The doctors do their best to keep jazzy and lance alive. And what my wife and I try to do is give them a life and this gives them a life. But the Cove in 19 Pandemic made their lives even more difficult. If you go to a typical park now, you still have to wipe everything down. You have to be concerned about you know who's been using it. That's when make a wish stepped into their backyard to transform it into this. I hope things gives him just endless joy of being able to do something as simple that he hasn't been able to dio swing in his own backyard. We can actually take them out here every day and allow them to have fun and give them quality of life. It means the world right, because it's like, uh, fulfilling your obligation as a parent. When you decide that you're gonna have a child, you want to give them the best. Uh, that life has to offer. You expect your senior trip to be a memory you never forget. For his senior trip, Max Alquist class went river rafting in Colorado. But while on the river, his boat crashed, everything was buzzing. It felt like in my body, and I was like, What's going on here? I was launched into the bottom of a shallow river when I hit the bottom. I wasn't really sure what happened. Max was rescued, but the accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. He had a grueling recovery ahead of him. You need me up. No. Oh, you got it. Max has done everything we could ask him to Dio. He really took his recovery seriously and personally. He educated himself, learned the terminology. The doctors were impressed with how much he knew. It doesn't look awesome when I walk. But the level of comfort I have, I guess, with walking for short distances like really awesome Max, not Onley relearned to walk. He graduated valedictorian. It really gives me kind of an under underdog fight in me where, you know, I realized there's nothing to lose. You know, I've been really lucky. And so I know that, you know, all of all there is is up from here Now Max is a freshman at Stanford University. We can't wait to see what he does next. Overcoming impossible odds is something Max has in common with our next student Meet Ray Scott. He's a golf caddy with a big future. There's just been so many challenges and obstacles in my family and to be able to overcome all of that and set a new precedent in our family. It's It's a great thing. As a child, Ray experience poverty and homelessness. The worst part about it is when you leave one parents household, you goto another parents household, and that parent doesn't even have a home. That entire experience was definitely the fire. That feel is my motivation every day to get up and to just be positive. I'm on a mission to make sure I never experienced that again. His life changed the day in eighth grade, Teacher recommended. He worked as a golf caddy. You come here and you make these connections with these people. I feel that I'm loved and I loved everyone here. It's a great place to be. Not on Lee. Did Ray become a part of the family? He earned the Chick Evans scholarship, which awards full college housing and tuition to golf caddies. Taking a moment to realize that I'd be relieved of such a financial burden, it's remarkable. It's amazing feeling. Ray was once homeless. Now he no longer has to worry about a roof over his head and is the first member of his family to attend college, go to college on something that I'd never thought I'd be doing ever. It is just a really teachable moment to show you how life could take you in really any direction. In this hospital, superheroes not only wear capes, they ring bells. Yeah. Dominic was two years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. After three years of treatment, Dominus family celebrated the moment to the best arrest patient. Always especially. And including today. You did amazing. We're so proud of. You were so excited to be here with you today to celebrate this. I don't think I've seen a bigger group than this ever. For all the support, everything this whole done, stuff that people don't know about, some stuff that people do way. Just appreciate all the support. Um, it's not been easy. I'm probably the one that hasn't talked about it amongst the two of us because I treat him right just like any other kid. Mhm. Yeah, we just appreciate I love you. I can't say much more weight. Yeah, that's crazy.
