Six Angry Women debuts on TVNZ1 on the evening of Monday, March 8.
One night in Auckland in 1984, six women abducted a University of Auckland lecturer named Mervyn Thompson and beat him, tied him to a tree, and accused him of being a rapist.
Though he was never convicted, Thompson had a reputation for harassing, abusing and exploiting women through his position of power, and these women, tired of men getting away with abusive behaviour, took matters into their own hands.

“There are a few people who probably should have talked on camera, but realised that they were going to look like dinosaurs,” says director Megan Jones.
