Cheeky comic Sir Stevo Timothy has appeared on Twitter wearing a RUC uniform following his recent brush with the law over his mock Garda skit.
The comedian’s Galway home was raided by eight officers recently after he wore a garda jacket and hat during a sketch he posted online of the character Garda Julian Murphy.
The force failed to see the funny side as he was formally interviewed by officers and told he could face charges for wearing a garda uniform in a sketch.
Under section 61.1 of the Garda Siochana Act, a person is guilty of an offence if he or she, not being a member of the Garda Siochana has in his or her possession any article of garda uniform and is not able satisfactorily to account for possessing it.
