TWO paintings owned by a Kendal priest could make over £12,000 at auction.
The oil paintings by Australian modernist painter Sir Sidney Nolan are being sold by 1818 auctioneers, near Milnthorpe, after Father Frederick George Jackson died of cancer last summer.
Fr Jackson worked in Kensington, London, for over 20 years and helped with services at Holy Trinity and St Georges Catholic Church in Kendal.
He also made frequent visits to Kendal to stay with family.
The 77-year-old, originally from Liverpool, had lived with Parkinson’s disease for several years before receiving a cancer diagnosis last year.
He died on July 17 at The Kensington Care Home, Ladbroke Road, with members of his family present.
