PHOENIX — Munira Abdulkadir spent 400 hours building her new home.
The Somalia-born Abdulkadir has been wanting a place of her own for two years since the birth of her child.
Habitat for Humanity was the single mother’s answer. For 400 hours, she assisted in the building of the home near 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road in lieu of a down payment, what Habitat for Humanity calls “sweat equity.”
