DEERFIELD, IL — The Deerfield Public Schools District 109 Board of Education has chosen Mike Simeck as the district's next superintendent of schools. Simeck's contract was approved at Monday's board of education meeting, and he will officially begin his duties on July 1, 2021.
Simeck brings "significant experience and leadership in education," most recently as the Superintendent of Schools for District 67 and 115 in Lake Forest, where he has served since 2012, according to a press release. In the five years prior, he was the superintendent at Berkley School District in Oak Park, Michigan, following four years of service leading the Dansville Schools. Simeck began his career as a middle and high school German teacher before moving into administrative roles as a summer school principal and then a high school principal.
