The death toll from the flash flood in Sikkim's Teesta basin has risen to 22, including seven army personnel. The bodies of seven army men have been recovered, while the search for the remaining missing soldiers continues. The flash flood was triggered by a cloudburst over Lhonak Lake, causing extensive damage to the region. Over 100 people, including 15 jawans, are still missing, and thousands have been displaced. The central government has approved the release of Rs 44.8 crore in relief funds, and an Inter-Ministerial Central Team will assess the damage caused by the flood.
