The Sidney Township Board invited a local sanitation businessman to Monday’s meeting as township officials consider whether to place a garbage service proposal on a future ballot. Treasurer Corinda Stover said she contacted four sanitation businesses but only Cory Baker of Baker Sanitation in Fenwick responded. Baker attended Monday’s township board meeting to introduce himself, sharing how he has worked in the garbage industry since he graduated from Belding High School, including working for Pitsch and Sidney Sanitation (until the latter was bought out by Granger about eight years ago). Baker has owned Baker Sanitation for the last five years.
