विश्व में पाम ऑयल का सबसे ज्यादा इस्तेमाल भारत में किया जाता है. लेकिन भारत को अपने कुल उपयोग का 60 फीसदी से ज्यादा तेल इंडोनेशिया और मलेशिया से आयात करना पड़ता है. यही दोनों देश दुनिया में इसके सबसे बड़े उत्पादक हैं.
