Should Ayushmann Khurrana move on with his small-town films?
Ayushmann Khurrana has had a meteoric rise in Bollywood with content-driven films that deal with some relatable issue. His debut film, Vicky Donor, explored the topic of sperm donation. Later, after going through some ups and downs, Ayushmann starred along side Bhumi Pednekar in Yash Raj Film's 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', which was followed by a string of successful films like 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', 'Shubh Mangal Savdhaan', Badhai Ho' and 'Bala.' From premature baldness to erectile dysfunction, his films have dealt with a rage of topics. But all these films have one thing in common - their setting. Most of these stories are set in a small town India, mostly in the Hindi heartland like MP or UP. It's on the verge of becoming a cliche and people might get bored of it. The setting of a story is as important as the story itself, especially in an Ayushmann film. So let's hope, he keeps reinventing himself without repeating the kind of films he does.
