WORCESTER - Two juveniles were arrested when they ran from police after gunfire rang out near Vernon and View streets at around 8 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Witnesses told officers they saw a white Jeep Cherokee and three mopeds in the area and that people seemed to be shooting from those vehicles, according to police radio reports.
Police were alerted to the gunfire by the city's ShotSpotter system which detects gunshots. The system registered five shots in this case, according to a dispatcher who radioed to send police to the area.
Officers began looking for the vehicles and later spotted a moped on Millbury Street. Moments later, a foot chase ensued with police quickly catching two people.
