Complex to relocate to Cardiff from current Aldershot base
Scott Brownrigg’s designs for the Museum of Military Medicine’s new home have been given the green light.
The proposals, which will see the museum relocate from its current base in military barracks at Aldershot in Hampshire to new digs in the Welsh capital, were approved by Cardiff council late last month.
The museum will be built in the Butetown area of Cardiff
The existing museum’s collections, which contain more than 30,000 objects ranging from uniforms, medals, medical equipment, personal artefacts and photographic archives, tell the story about the history of military medicine from the English Civil War to the present day.
