MUMBAI: They say entertainment has never gone out of fashion. Even during the Great Depression of 1929-30, audiences flocked to the theatres to watch more movies than before and lift their low spirits.
However, the Covid-19 pandemic was different. Even as economic activity stalled, social distancing meant no group engagements – no dining out, no travel and no movies. In India, according to trade analysts, the film industry lost at least Rs
