Canada-based Shopify (SHOP), an e-commerce platform that serves independent retailers, announced Tuesday that it will lower the amount of the share they take for using its app in a move that follows the lead of tech titans Apple, Google, Microsoft and Amazon.
Shopify will offer developers 100% of their revenue from the first $1 million they make through its app.
“We help people achieve independence by making it easier to start, run, and grow a business. We believe the future of commerce has more voices, not fewer, so we’re reducing the barriers to business ownership to make commerce better for everyone," the company said.
