SheElevates offers girls confidence, mentorship

CANTON – When DeLores Pressley was little, other kids would call her bossy.
"My mom said I came out (at birth) saying 'Girl Power!'" she said with a laugh. "She said she was worried about me on the first day of kindergarten, but the teacher told my mom I taught the class."
In 2018, Pressley used her natural talents to launch the She Elevates Academy, a five-week empowerment outreach for girls 8 to 14. More than 500 girls from across the country and around the world have taken part in She Elevates Academy programs, which offer guidance in entrepreneurship, confidence-building, public speaking, and organizational and leadership skills.
