Shark fin trade in U.S. may soon be banned

Congress has passed a bill that would ban the buying and selling of shark fins in the U.S. The law is meant to combat the practice of shark “finning,” which occurs when commercial fishermen cut sharks' valuable fins off and dump the still-living animals overboard to die.
