Shammas Malik wins Democratic primary, will likely serve as Akron's 63rd mayor

Firestone High School and Harvard Law School graduate Shammas Malik is all but certain to be the city’s next mayor following Tuesday’s Primary Election. Malik, 32, has served as the Ward 8 representative on Akron City Council since 2020.
